Picking up the Tab

Psoriasis treatment can be very expensive depending upon the medications needed. Your doctor can work within your budget, or sometimes get assistance for more expensive drugs directly from the manufacturers. My office is always well stocked with coupons from drug manufacturers designed to help patients with their part of the bill at the pharmacy -- it may be worth asking your doctor if any such discounts are available. Some of the biologic companies will give away their medicines to qualified patients. Insurance companies often use seemingly arbitrary and capricious rules to decide which medications they are willing to pay for, but sometimes with a flurry of letters and appeals they will cover drugs they initially deny payment for.
