Beta Blockers Exonerated?

Saturday May 3, 2008
Looking at the colossal U.K.-based General Practice Research Database, researchers out of Geneva and Boston concluded that beta blocker medications did not increase the risk of first-time psoriasis diagnosis. I'm not entirely convinced however - I've seen pustular psoriasis develop in previously diagnosed patients when put on beta blockers and plaque type psoriasis get worse or more difficult to manage in conjunction with beta blockers. Perhaps then beta blockers don't cause psoriasis but may tend to make it worse? That's another study! Here's some more on medications and psoriasis.
